Bring Your Horse to Nottinghamshire

Newbound Farm is one of a very small number of holiday cottage properties in the East Midlands that welcomes horses. Set in the village of Teversal, the farm sits directly on the Teversal Trail — giving you immediate access to an extensive network of traffic-free, off-road hacking routes through some of Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire's most beautiful countryside.

While your horse is settled in the paddock, you'll be staying in Orchard Barn — a luxury 2-bed barn conversion with a wood-fired hot tub, private garden, and spectacular countryside views. The perfect end to a long day in the saddle.

Off-Road Hacking

Miles of Traffic-Free Trails

The Teversal Trail starts at the farm gate and connects to a wider network spanning Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire — all off-road, all traffic-free.

Teversal Trail

5 miles

Traffic-free · Former railway line

Starting directly from the farm gate, the Teversal Trail winds through ancient woodland, open countryside and historically rich former colliery landscapes. Entirely off-road and well-surfaced — ideal for all abilities and perfect for horses, cyclists and walkers.

Five Pits Trail

9 miles

Off-road · Phoenix Greenways

Connected via the Phoenix Greenways network, the Five Pits Trail runs between Tibshelf and Grassmoor through the heart of Derbyshire, taking in five former colliery sites now transformed into nature reserves. The Tibshelf Canter Track, located near the Tibshelf end of the trail, provides a dedicated off-road riding surface — perfect for riders looking to open up along this stretch.

Silverhill Trail

Connecting link

Off-road · Silverhill Wood

The Silverhill Trail links the Five Pits Trail with the Teversal and Pleasley Trails through the beautiful ancient oak woodland of Silverhill Wood — a quieter, more secluded stretch ideal for a peaceful hack.

Pleasley Trail

Extending north

Off-road · Pleasley Vale

Heading north from Teversal, the Pleasley Trail leads to Pleasley Colliery and on into Pleasley Vale — a stunning riverside nature reserve designated as an SSSI. An unforgettable destination ride.
